cointec office
the project for the renovation of new Cointec offices involves refurbishing a commercial premises next to Parque Severo Ochoa, in the city of Orihuela. The space was presented raw, with only a metal structure built to house a mezzanine.
the depressed position of the premises with respect to the roads and the fact of being in a flood-prone area were decisive for the creation of a high level in the access area, which would serve as protection against runoff water.
the staircase and toilets are located at the back of the premises. This allows for a greater surface area of free space in the front area. Likewise, a central strip solves the storage space necessary for the work spaces and the passage of the air conditioning and air renewal installations.
the project draws a distribution that is intended to promote the feeling of spaciousness. For this reason, a continuous compartmentalized space is created only through the precise position of pieces of furniture and glass partitions, which visually connect the different rooms.
on the other hand, the materiality of the project is characterized by the use of a continuous concrete pavement. This resolves all the rooms in the office and harmonizes with the satin stainless steel profiles of the screens. Likewise, the stone used for the construction of the bench located in the hall generates the intended contrast with the pavement and accentuates its unique character.
