Langzhong, with its architectural legacy evoking centuries of history, is the scenario where tradition and modernity converge. In this context, our project is respectfully integrated into the urban context, preserving the essence of the place while introducing a contemporary vision.
In the architecture of ancient China, patios and verandas were more than transitions, they were thresholds between interior and exterior, stillness and movement. Their presence invites shade, breeze, and silence, encouraging a slower pace.
transitions and privacy
Privacy and lighting are two of the main goals in this project. Through a careful play of perspectives, green screens, and volumes, we’ve crafted a design that ensures both. These elements are woven into the new architectural language, creating spaces that feel intimate yet open, secluded yet connected to light and nature.
The transition between the hotel and restaurant, positioned along the main pedestrian façade, and the houses, placed at the back, is enhanced and filtered through semi-private spaces and gardens, ensuring privacy while maintaining a harmonious connection to nature.
the module
The entire space is modular and symmetrical. This approach not only ensures balance and harmony, as seen in vernacular architecture, but also makes the construction process faster and more efficient. The repetition of elements creates a rhythm that is both aesthetic and functional.
location
The immediate surroundings of the plot and its access points determined the initial approach to the project. The main façade opens onto one of the main pedestrian streets in the area, full of activity and life. The quieter, more private side streets, also pedestrian, offer a sense of seclusion.
This layout naturally guided the organization of the accesses and the program. The public areas and the main entrance will open onto the lively main street, creating an inviting presence, while the homes will have their entrances on the quieter side streets, thus ensuring the privacy of the residents.
