The house is not conceived as an object placed on the ground, but rather as a mineral body partially excavated from it. This design approach, linked to the topography and geological character of the site, gives rise to a massive, restrained architecture, where the material seems to resist rather than disappear.
The walls are thick, almost stone-like, and the openings are strategically placed. Light enters filtered, softened by the depth of the openings, creating a sequence of contrasts between dense shadow and selective clarity.
The architecture unfolds as a silent block, closed to the immediate exterior and articulated by deep openings and excavated courtyards that bring light, air, and time into the interior. These voids are not understood as conventional perforations, but as transitional spaces: thresholds between the built and the natural, between the domestic and the mineral.
In the center of the floor plan, the daytime space extends northward, framing the views through a large, deep opening protected by the thickness of the wall. Upon reaching the heart of the house, the landscape unfolds in all its breadth. Thus, the house becomes a contained and monumental viewing machine, at the service of a specific experience: looking from silence, from shadow, from architecture.
The access to the house takes place from the upper level of the plot, through an arrival platform flanked by two lateral volumes. The architecture is organized around this initial gesture. Far from being organized as a sequence of traditional rooms, the house is structured around a path: a controlled, almost ceremonial descent that leads from the access level to the living area.
The interior of the house extends the feeling of being inside an excavated space. The thick walls and deep openings filter the light and create dense shadows, accentuating the perception of mass. The material palette reinforces this idea: naturally textured stone surfaces coexist with wood that adds warmth without losing gravity.
