The residential building in Ontinyent is located in the heart of the municipality. It consists of a building intended for rental housing. The pre-existence is a building between party walls with a facade and a backyard, near the central Plaza de Santo Domingo. Built in 1982, it consists of 4 floors and an attic. It occupies an elongated rectangular plot of 146 m2. Currently, the building houses two duplex apartments, a shop on the first floor and a warehouse and wants to become a complete residential building.

 

The assignment

 

The assignment is to renovate both the interior and exterior of the residential building, dividing the renovation into phases. The first phase will focus on the ground floor, which is almost finished. Now we will start with the project of the first and second floors and the complete restoration of its facade, characterized by its vertical balconies of the traditional houses in the center of Ontinyent. Creating a contemporary aesthetic, while respecting the aesthetics of the historic center protected by its architectural quality.

 

The Idea

 

The intention of the project is to create an impeccable design that not only satisfies the basic needs of its inhabitants, but also creates the right atmosphere to contribute to the happiness and well-being of those who will live there. Therefore, we consider this work as a contribution to improve our built and living environment, inspired entirely by the pursuit of beauty. That beauty that serves society, improving people’s lives and helping to create a better world.

 

The main idea of the project is to create a proposal of simple and proportioned lines that integrate every detail in a natural way, generating an atmosphere of serenity and well-being in each of the spaces of the project.
