Site visit I La Monsina School in Callosa de Segura
As we do every week, the team from Balzar Arquitectos has visited the site of our ‘La Monsina School’, project underway in Callosa de Segura, Alicante. It is with great pleasure that we can finally say that the building’s structure has been completed, the most complex part given the singularity of the construction.
Located in Callosa de Segura, in Alicante, the ‘La Monsina’ new school project, designed by Balzar Arquitectos, aims to extend the facilities to house the primary school. It involves creating ten classrooms underground, a gym with changing rooms on the first floor, and a multi-function room and library on the first floor.
Skylights have been opened up to illuminate the spaces underground, providing both a great deal of light and privacy.
The new building is compact and efficient, situated at the furthest end of the plot to the east to leave room for a garden, onto which the old and new buildings converge. This idea highlights our intention to think not only about the construction but also in the space created between both pieces.
The project is still ongoing — we look forward to showing you the final building.
