There are contexts in which architecture should not seek to project an image, but rather give form to a way of working. The new Expormim offices in Valencia are conceived from this understanding.
The project is not approached as a representative gesture, but as a natural extension of the company’s culture. A workplace where architecture supports everyday processes, where materials are expressed with honesty, and where light structures the atmosphere without artifice.
Expormim works primarily with rattan, a material deeply rooted in Mediterranean craft tradition. Over the years, the brand has successfully reinterpreted it through a contemporary lens, developing new solutions in collaboration with internationally recognised designers.
In 2021, this approach was acknowledged with the Spanish National Design Award, reinforcing a trajectory grounded in innovation, consistency and respect for craftsmanship.
From the outset, the work focused on understanding the values that define Expormim: a close relationship with craftsmanship, respect for productive tradition, attention to detail, and an understanding of sustainability rooted in durability and the conscious use of resources. Architecture responds to these principles through restraint and clarity, avoiding the superfluous and reinforcing what is essential.
The spaces are organised in an open and continuous manner. Furniture ceases to be an exhibition element and becomes part of the daily life of the building. Office and product coexist without hierarchy, reflecting a way of working based on proximity, exchange and time.
Materiality plays a central role. Natural finishes, honest surfaces and a serene atmosphere shape an environment that connects with the Mediterranean character of the brand and its commitment to responsible and long-lasting processes.
Precision emerges as a structural condition of the project.
Not understood as formal perfection, but as control in every decision: in the modulation of space, in the junction between materials, and in the way light meets each surface. An architecture built through continuous adjustment, where every element occupies exactly the place it should.
More than a new headquarters, these offices represent a moment of transition. A place that does not look outward to define itself, but instead consolidates an identity built over time.
