Video report | House in Artes Gráficas
New video report on ‘House in Artes Gráficas’, Valencia.
The video report of our latest project ‘House in Artes Gráficas’ is now up on the homepage of our website.
We made our first-ever video report to explain the project and show you how the space is lived in by its occupants, as well as the architecture.
Location
The ‘House in Artes Gráficas’ is located in one of the most emblematic residential areas in Valencia, close to the city and the Ciutat Universitària district.
We wanted to pay homage to the surrounding urban heritage in the design of the house and make a feature of Moreno Barberá’s iconic Geography and History faculty building opposite within the house.
The house
This house was for a young couple and their two small children, and was carefully created and designed to be comfortable for its inhabitants and sustainable for the environment.
The dwelling
We believe that a house is much more than just that, it is the people who dwell in it and the objects they store there. That is why, above all else, the design of the ‘House in Artes Gráficas’ aims to satisfy basic needs of the people living in it, naturally and simply.
Activities such as resting, allowing natural light into the space, washing, eating, reading, sleeping, exercising, and playing and developing for the smaller ones. In a word: life.
We know that planning a positive experience for its users is fundamental in creating a home. Allocating spaces for welcome, nurture, protection, shelter, conversation, celebrations, gathering, fun and intimacy.
A house that will help to create a serene and peaceful atmosphere, calming the souls of the people who live there.
Sustainability
We have opted for sustainable materials, respectful of the environment: local, unrefined and long-lasting. Materials that age well, are ever-changing and transform over time into something beautiful.
In short, the new video report of ‘House in Artes Gráficas’, Valencia, attempts to show the human architecture, how it was built to be inhabited. Humanised architecture that is empathetic, comforting and adapted to each person.
