Furniture design | Kitchen in avenida del oeste apartment

Furniture design for the Home in Avinguda de l’Oest. At present we are deeply involved in finalising work on the new Comprehensive Refurbishment at Avinguda de l’Oest. Work has begun on the carpentry, kitchen finishes and installing the pieces of furniture. This includes the kitchen island and dining table, which play a leading role in the space of the new project.

These two long pieces are set lengthways and impose their presence in the centre of the home’s daytime space, giving it a strong sense of character. Both pieces are extremely light and sit on a thin structure and three highly expressive cylindrical metal supports.

When designing furniture for the Home in Avinguda de l’Oest, the location of the two island pieces and table was meticulously planned and they have been placed in the centre of the kitchen and dining room spaces. The supports are cylindrical in shape, 30 cm in diameter and made from matte black metal. A metal structure sits on top to support the black Dekton base. Furniture design for the Home in Avinguda de l’Oest.Both base pieces are minutely thin, contrasting with the apparently heavy supports. The bases were designed with semi-circular ends, echoing the curve of the dining room’s false ceiling.

At Balzar Arquitectos we like to control the design of every element that features in a space, down to the smallest detail. The design of the kitchen island and dining table in this new refurbishment give the space character and bring a sense of harmony to it as a whole.
