GE Apartment is located in a 1925 building whose value lies not only in its age, but also in the way time has shaped its personality: generous proportions, details that have stood the test of time, and light that sets the tone for each room.
The project does not seek to reinterpret that history, but rather to give it a clear structure, a contemporary logic capable of sustaining it and projecting it into the future. The intervention introduces a precise, restrained, almost silent architecture that reorganizes the house from within.
It does not seek prominence; it seeks solidity, continuity, and coherence, three essential principles when working with buildings that must remain standing for another hundred years.
The new does not correct the old. It accompanies it, refines it, orders it. The existing architecture sets the initial rules; the contemporary intervention completes them. The result is not a contrast, but a transition. A home where eras do not confront, but rather support each other to build a more defined identity.
The materials are chosen for their ability to age well and for the way they regulate light. Travertine, wood, lime. A brief, consistent palette that creates continuity without the need for artifice. The materiality does not decorate: it structures the atmosphere, adds depth, and defines the relationship between spaces naturally.
the furniture
The furniture reinforces the architecture without imitating it. Vintage pieces interact with contemporary designs and custom-made elements that extend the material language of the project. The selection shapes a balanced interior, in which each object supports the overall idea of the space and enhances its legibility.
